Hot Fuzz film review

This week we watch, review and react to the second film in the Cornetto Trilogy, 2007's Hot Fuzz. Directed by Edgar RIght and starring Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Olivia Colman and a whole heap of other classic British actors that have also been in the Harry Potter films, of course. In other tangents LADS are finally getting around to watching Game of Thrones (have you heard about the Red Wedding?!?!). We also remember cult British puppet Sooty.

Saltburn Film Review

Lads discuss bath tubs, vampires, graves, dancing and Barry Keoghan's age, that's right it's our reaction and review of the 2023 psychological thriller Saltburn, directed by Emerald Fennell.

The Archies

This week we watch, review and react to The Archies, the 2023 Indian Hindi language teen musical comedy film. LADS need a funny sunny happy movie to watch this week, when it’s a cold, dark January, and this is it. A live action adaptation of the comic book, this beautiful film set in Riverdale is just what we needed. LADS discuss the (fairly thin, let’s face it) plot, our favourite characters and the film Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights (at length). Abi tries to pretend she doesn’t like Patrick Swayze. Dan outs himself as a stalker of Lucy and Sam. 

The Boy and the Heron

LADS go to the movies, to see the weird and wonderful Boy and the Heron, the long awaited Studio Ghibli fantasy film. Written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, this has been described as a “big fantastical movie” and we definitely agree with that. LADS also first released this as a live episode on New Year’s Eve, so we may sound a little merry.

Amsterdam - LADS React and Review

Lads watch the period mystery comedy thriller film from 2022, Amsterdam. With an all star cast, including John David Washington, Christian Bale and Margot Robbie, LADS discuss Taylor Swift, mid Atlantic accents (don’t worry, we just discovered them too), and how good Anna Taylor-Joy is at being bad. This movie is well worth a watch, surprising at least two of us! 

LADS Favourite Santas

It’s Christmas!!!! Lads sit down with a mince pie and a snowball to discuss our favourite film Santas in this festive episode. We are spreading our Seasons Greetings far and wide as we discuss such greats as Richard Attenborough (from Miracle on 34th Street), Ed Asher who played the big man himself 8 times, Tim the tool man Allen, and Kurt Russell, everyone’s favourite rock and roll Santa. 

Young Frankenstein

This week LADS watch, react and review to Young Frankenstein, Mel Brooks’ 1974 comedy horror film starring Gene Wilder, Peter Boyle, Cloris Leachman, Marty Feldman and Teri Garr. A timeless classic, with plenty of enormous Schwanzstuckers to go round, LADS discuss the hilarious bits, the problematic bits and everything in between. 

Spirited - LADS do Christmas!

It’s Christmas!!! LADS kick off the Christmas season by watching and reviewing the 2022 festive comedy Spirited, starring Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds. Showcasing their trademark hilarious styles, but bringing in a musical twist? It’s a risk, but do LADS think it pays off? Listen and see!! 

The Killer *LADS React and Review*

On this episode, LADS discuss the new David Fincher action packed thriller from Netflix, that appears to be neither packed with action nor thrilling. While we review The Killer, starring the amazing Michael Fassbender and Tilda Swinton, we talk Marc Evan Jackson (a case of mistaken identity), the Ancient One herself and how a handjob can go wrong. We may have got off topic…

Anchorman - Reaction and Review

I love lamp! Lads react to their favourite lines, and review the 2004 comedy classic; Anchorman. Will Ferrell is joined by an incredible cast including Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and some regular SNL talent.
